"It's never too early in your career progression to support and mentor other women, create space, extend opportunities. As you begin to find your own voice and platform, remember to bring other women along with you. Nā te tipu o te kōhine, ka kitea te purotu o te Māreikura.”

" I'm a registered Architect in Wellington, currently on maternity leave with my third child, and am looking for someone to be my mentor, in terms of maintaining my career with kids, and also the direction I might be able to take my career. I currently practice on my own, or do contract work but would like to be a part of a larger office again... In turn I'd be more than happy to mentor someone that's perhaps heading towards registration, or starting a family and juggling the early stages of maternity leave. "

" I'd be keen to talk to someone that is working part time hours in a bigger firm, more so than someone working on their own, (or ideally someone who has done both)... The issue I've found is when I'm only able to work part time hours I've been pigeon holed into draughtsperson type roles, which is hard to expand my experience...I'm really interested in the management of projects and staff and relish the relationship side of things, so I'm wondering whether these opportunities might be out there for me, and what I can do to get myself there."

"Also please do keep me in mind for anyone who contacts you wanting a mentor for either registration or working through early stages of having kids and doing contracting work etc. "

" I've set up on my own working part-time while I have kids, and I would absolutely love to have someone to give me some guidance and help. In turn I'm happy to mentor a recent graduate who wants to go through registration, or someone who is looking to go on Maternity leave and get help/ideas with managing this. "

"While I really enjoy my job I’m struggling to balance my project duties with increasing management responsibilities and have ended up doing a great deal of over time over the last year. Having discussed this with the directors of the firm we thought maybe having a mentor external to the office may be useful to me at this stage of my career."
