The question posed for this thesis was: "How can architecture support individual wellbeing through community oriented interventions within
urban housing?"
The aim of this research was to contribute to the understanding of the role of community formation within urban housing and its role in increasing the wellbeing of medium density
residents and the wider community. It took the existing site of the Te Mara Apartments, and redeveloped the interior courtyard through a series of moments and interventions to create spaces for connection and community.
