Elisa Sacco
I am an Interior Design student currently completing my degree overseas (graduation expected in May '26). I have a strong interest in neuro design and sustainability.

I am particularly interested in the design of schools and healthcare environments, where research-based design and careful attention to detail can have a real impact on users’ health and performance. I find design processes grounded in-depth study of spatial and material details especially engaging.

I am highly motivated to enter professional practice and to learn through hands-on experience. I consider myself a practical, reliable, and committed person with a strong work ethic.
Looking For a Mentor
I am looking for a mentor to help me understand the practical side of working as an interior designer, from the early design stages through to project delivery. I would like to learn how the full design process works in practice, including workflows, coordination, and day-to-day professional responsibilities. As I am new to working in this country, I am particularly interested in gaining insight into local professional practices, expectations, and processes. I am keen to learn through observation, hands-on experience, and open discussion, and I value clear guidance and honest feedback.

SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN | HIGH-PERFORMANCE PASSIVE HOUSE

Passive and sustainable residential project designed and built by an architecture studio in Italy. My role focused on the selection of interior finishing materials aligned with the project’s environmental and performance-driven approach.

Material choices were guided by sustainability, high thermal and acoustic performance, durability, and local sourcing. The project also prioritised the reuse of existing and reclaimed materials and furniture wherever possible, reducing waste and embodied energy.

All finishes were selected to be fully compatible with the building’s systems, including heat recovery ventilation (HRV), underfloor heating and cooling, and solar panels. Particular attention was given to non-toxic solutions, avoiding harmful paints, resins, and adhesives, and incorporating low-emission and photocatalytic paints where appropriate.

The project is currently a work in progress, in the final stages of construction.

COMFORT UPGRADE | AUCKLAND RESIDENTIAL HOUSE INTERIOR DESIGN

Conceptual renovation project of a typical Auckland house, focused on practical, low-impact intervention.

The project explores the addition of a second bathroom while minimising cost, construction time, and disruption to daily life, including reduced workdays, mess, and on-site disturbance.

The design also addresses improvements in thermal comfort and everyday usability through targeted upgrades such as flooring replacement and the improvement of doors and windows.

The project prioritises efficient planning, realistic construction strategies, and design decisions grounded in feasibility and user comfort.

TINY HOUSE | TROPICAL AIRBNB APARTMENT INTERIOR DESIGN

Interior design project for a 30 sqm rental micro-apartment located in a tropical climate in Mexico, originally designed by an architecture studio (LH ARQS). The scope focuses on the selection of finishes, furniture, and smart, space-efficient solutions suitable for short- and long-term rental use.

The project emphasises the use of local materials for finishes and bespoke furniture, alongside strategies to maximise vertical space through practical and lightweight design solutions. Particular attention is given to visual lightness, everyday comfort, and functionality within a compact footprint.

This project is currently a work in progress; the images shown represent a pre-final design concept.
