McKenzie Development
Situated between Māngere Lawn Cemetery & Crematorium and Māngere College, this 43-unit development creates a human-scaled community that responds sensitively to its context.
Blocks A and B deliver 30 walk-up apartments, with shared facilities connecting to a central communal space visible from all units, encouraging interaction and flexible outdoor use. Blocks C and D comprise 14 two-storey terrace houses designed to align with the surrounding scale.
A mix of brick and weatherboard, varied colours, and articulated forms break down the massing, creating a cohesive yet dynamic streetscape while maintaining privacy.
