Virginia Barlow

Lillie Square Clubhouse is located at Earls Court in West London. The clubhouse was a small component of a larger residential development. The facilities included a swimming pool, spa, gym, cinema, private dining and childcare. The interior designer was Hong Kong based architects Richards Basmajian.

EPR were the executive architects and had the comprehensive task of detailing the interior shell, incorporating all the materials whilst applying British building regulations.

One of the key challenges was the budget. My task within the team was designing and detailing alternative solutions and presenting them to the client for variation approvals. This was challenging as there were many people who had to approve the changes so the drawings and documentation had to be clear and concise.

The interiors scheme was extravagant and was designed for a particular market. We took CGI images and rough schematic details, transferring them into refined buildable elements while keeping the design intent.

This project is currently in the construction phase and is due to complete in April 2017.
