Showcase

Tutū Fa'atasi

A contemporary take on Samoan architecture. This project is a Natural Disaster Relief Centre with the dual function of spreading knowledge on traditional and western building techniques for disaster preparedness, as well as a temporary accommodation for those that need it in the event of a natural disaster. This project researched cultural aspects of Samoa such as Fa'asamoa, which entails cultural values followed by Samoans, and the theory of Vā. A collection of buildings with programmes that suit the goal of the project, but also fit in and work along side the exisiting programmes within the village of Poutasi.
